The Grown Ups
The history of The Grown Ups dates back to 1990, when two Oklahoma City kindergarten students met and became friends. By the time Clint Tharp and Cory Perschbacher got to high school, they were writing and playing music together. Derek Harris joined the duo in 2009, creating the band known today as The Grown Ups.
With the release of a self-titled CD in 2009, The Grown Ups established themselves as a unique electro-folk trio, emphasizing tight vocal harmonies and cool arrangements. The band performs and records extensively, alternating instruments and vocals, both live and in the studio. On stage, Clint Tharp fronts the band on guitar, swapping out lead and harmony vocals with drummer Derek Harris. Cory Perschbacher covers keyboards, synthesizer, bass and occasionally swaps places with Harris on drums.
The Grown Ups will be releasing a new CD this spring. They have incorporated their combined influences of folk, soul, rock, and reggae, with Perschbacher’s classical background and expertise in orchestration. This album promises to be the best of everything they already do so well.
